Five reasons why Elstree is a great place to live

FIVE REASONS WHY ELSTREE IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE

Elstree is arguably one of Hertfordshire’s most sought-after locations. There’s so much on offer here, that it’s not hard to see why. The village has something for everyone, with a great sense of community, plentiful local amenities, good schools, and much more.

If you’re looking for a property in Elstree, here are just a few reasons to start your search straight away.

Five Top Reasons To Move To Elstree

It’s got great transport links.

Elstree is a firm favourite among commuters, because it’s so well connected with other parts of the country. It takes just half an hour to travel to Central London from Elstree & Borehamwood station, and the A1 and M25 are also within easy reach, providing access to numerous locations across the UK.

There are plenty of buses operating in the area too, and if you want to go abroad, you’ll be pleased to know that Heathrow and Gatwick Airport are both just a short train or car journey away.

It’s got scenic countryside.

The village is conveniently close to Central London, but it has a wonderfully rural feel to it, thanks to the beautiful surrounding countryside. Aldenham Country Park is much-loved by local residents and has a reservoir and children’s play areas. There are also several walking routes in the area, which are ideal for taking the dog for a stroll at the weekend.

It’s got plenty of attractive properties.

Families love Elstree’s range of spacious family homes. They usually come with large gardens and driveways, along with plenty of internal space and multiple bedrooms. There are also some excellent apartments in the area, which offer real value for money – something that first-time buyers particularly appreciate.

Many of the homes are period properties and come with impressive original features. These are highly desirable and tend to be snapped up quickly. Fans of contemporary living will be pleased to know there are some attractive modern houses and flats in Elstree too, which offer light, airy dimensions throughout.

The village’s property prices have risen steadily over the last few years, so it’s likely that your home will increase in value in the future. That’s a real bonus for those who want to generate profit from capital growth.

There’s lots to see and do.

Elstree has a formidable array of amenities and attractions; especially remarkable given that it’s a village, not a town. There are several restaurants and pubs to enjoy, such as The Waggon and Horses; an ancient inn with log fires and a good beer-garden. Elstree Studios provides fascinating insight into the area’s connections with the UK film industry, and nearby Borehamwood has a cinema, theatre, swimming pool, plus plenty of activities for the children.

There are lots of high-performing schools to choose from.

Haberdashers Aske’s School for Boys and School for Girls are both near Elstree and are regarded as being among the best in the country. If you move here, you’ll be in the catchment area, which is a major draw for families. Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet, is also very popular.

There are some well-respected primary schools too, such as St Nicholas C of E School, which was rated ‘good’ in its most recent Ofsted report. In short, if you’re looking for a good education for your children, you’re spoilt for choice here.
