Five reasons why Radlett is a great place to live

FIVE REASONS WHY RADLETT IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE

Radlett is one of Hertfordshire’s best-loved villages. Although it has attracted celebrities and multimillionaires in the past, it remains pleasantly unpretentious, with a strong sense of community.

If you’re looking for a place to live that’s close to London, while offering proximity to plenty of countryside, this location should be top on your list.

The Top Five Reasons To Buy A Property In Radlett

It has a diverse property market.

Radlett is famous for its supersized mansions; from spacious modern homes on Newlands Avenue, to older properties with lots of accompanying land, like those on Aldenham Grove. However, it’s important to note that there are plenty of other options, like the new-build houses in the gated development on Highbridge Close. First-time buyers are catered for too, with some great one- and two-bedroomed apartments in the area for under £300,000.

There’s plenty to do

Radlett has an impressive array of amenities for a village. There are several sports clubs for residents to join, such as the ever-popular Radlett Tennis and Squash Club. You’ll also find plenty to keep you entertained in the evening here, thanks to the wealth of excellent restaurants and traditional pubs. There’s even a small theatre, which regularly puts on performances from local theatre companies and schools.

There are excellent schools in the area

The village is especially popular with families, thanks to its range of great schools. For example, Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls and Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Boys are widely regarded as among the best in the country, and living in this area will certainly help your chances of your child being awarded a place. Hertsmere Primary School and St John’s CoE Infant and Nursery are also highly rated.

It’s well connected

It’s unusual for a village to have its own train station – a fact that makes Radlett even more desirable. Trains take under half an hour to reach St Pancras, which is ideal for commuters. Alternatively, it’s easy to drive to Central London, thanks to the proximity of the M1 and the M25. For further convenience, Heathrow Airport is well under an hour’s journey away, which is great for when you want to go on holiday.

It’s one of the county’s most prestigious postcodes

If you’re looking to invest in an area that’s bound to hold its value for years to come, Radlett is a savvy option. It’s long since been regarded as one of Hertfordshire’s most sought-after addresses, and overall, prices have mostly continued to rise in the last decade or so.

Detached homes have always been the most popular property type here, or if you’re thinking of investing in a buy-to-let house, check out the apartments, which offer excellent value for money.

Is Now The Time To Buy?

Now is a great time to buy, especially if you’re thinking of buying a property under £500,000. The stamp duty holiday means you won’t pay any stamp duty tax, which means you could save thousands on your purchase.

Additionally, Radlett’s market is exceptionally buoyant at present, and there are plenty of properties coming to market. That means lots of choice, regardless of what your budget is.
